So...apparently information has been released about the last episode of the third season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It seems to be strongly implied that Twilight Sparkle is going to become a princess: [link]

To add to that, there have been several official works of art displaying Twilight Sparkle as an alicorn. Add this together, and this is starting to go in a direction that I absolutely do not want it to go. This comic pretty much sums up my thoughts on the situation (involving some admittedly rushed art on my part, but this wasn't intended to be high-quality).

Seriously, Hasbro...DON'T MAKE TWILIGHT SPARKLE INTO AN ALICORN! She already has enough Mary Sue symptoms as it is! Not to mention that making more and more alicorns makes them decreasingly special. Celestia has already been subject to the Worf Effect enough, so she doesn't need Twilight becoming her equal.

I hope I'm just overreacting and they don't actually go through with this.

EDIT: I had a new thought come to me today. I no longer think that Twilight Sparkle is the one who is going to become a princess. The ceremony is for Princess Skyla: [link] My current theory is that Skyla is some relative of Cadance (either daughter or younger sister). It would make far more sense for someone related to royalty to become the princess instead of Twilight, yes? The fact that Skyla hasn't shown up yet and season 3 is almost over also helps to convince me that they are saving her for an appearance in the last episode. Disaster averted? Maybe...*sniff*...maybe...

EDIT 3: You people really need to read more thoroughly. Nowhere did I say that Twilight is a Mary Sue. I said that she had the symptoms of a Mary Sue. I don't think she is a Sue, but I do think she does have more qualities of one than I'd prefer for her to have.
